Voicemail Quick Guide

CV Voicemail

Additional features such as Changing Your Recorded Name, Transferring Calls Directly into Voicemail, and Setting up a Private Distribution List, can be accessed through the CV Voicemail User Guide. Log into the Cisco Messaging Assistant using your NRAO Windows AD login username and password to access multi-platform integration features as well as expanded system preferences.

Initial Voicemail Setup:

Dial 0299 and then enter the default voicemail PIN.  NOTE: You may be prompted to enter your ID, which is your 4-digit extension (mailbox number) followed by #. Follow the instructions below to record Your Name (Personal Verification), Greeting, and change your Password.

The default voicemail PIN is: 159357 followed by #.

Logging into Voicemail:

From your extension: Press phones_CVdirectories.jpg or dial 0299, enter your PIN, followed by #

From another extension: Dial 0299 and press * when the voicemail system answers. Enter your ID (4-digit extension) followed by #, then enter your PIN followed by #

From outside of NRAO: Dial your NRAO phone number then press * when you hear your voicemail greeting. Enter your ID (4-digit extension) followed by #, then enter your PIN followed by #

Voicemail Options:

To record Your Name (Personal Verification): After logging-on, press 4, 3, 2. At the tone, record your name, followed by #. Press * to keep the current recording.

To record a Greeting: After logging-in, press 4 then 1. After you hear your current greeting, press 1 to record a new greeting or 2 to select an alternate greeting.

To change your PIN (password): After logging-in, press 4, 3, 1 then enter your new PIN (password), followed by #. Enter your new PIN (password) again to confirm, followed by #.

To play your messages: Your messages will play automatically after logging-in, press 3 after login to hear saved messages; use the following commands during play back:

0 - help function

1 - replay the message

2 - save the message

3 - delete the message

4 - slow playback

6 - speed playback

7 - rewind playback

8 - pause/resume playback

# - fast forward to the end of the message

After message playback, the following keys have new functionality:

4 - reply

5 - forward the message

6 - save as new

8 - play message properties

4, 2 - reply to all messages

 

To send a message while logged into voicemail: Press 2 to record your message followed by # Follow the voicemail system instructions to address the message.

Express Messaging (direct voicemail box access without logging-in):

Press * and dial the recipient's 4-digit extension (This will bypass the phone; the phone will not ring, and you will go directly into the user’s mailbox.)

Initial Voicemail Setup:

The default voicemail PIN is: 159357 followed by #.

From an on-site extension, dial 2355, then enter your assigned mailbox number (4-digit extension), followed by #, then enter 1,2 + your 4-digit extension (12xxxx) as your temporary password, followed by #. Follow the instructions below to change your Password, record your Personal Verification, and Greeting.

Logging into Voicemail:

From an on-site extension, dial 2355, press the message key, or if off-site, dial 304-456-2355 (9+1+304-456-2355 if dialing-in from another NRAO site). Enter your 4-digit extension, followed by #, then enter your password, followed by #

Voicemail Options:

To change your Password: Press 8, 4, enter your current password, followed by #, then enter your new password (6 digit minimum), followed by #.

To record your Personal Verification (Your Name): After logging-in, press 8, 9, 5 then say your name when the tone sounds, followed by #.

To record a Greeting: After logging-in, press 8, 2

Press 1 for an external greeting (default greeting for all call types), 2 for an internal greeting, or 3 for a temporary greeting.

Press 5, then record your greeting after the tone, followed by #. Press 2 to replay, 7,6 to delete and 5 to record again. Press 8, 3 to confirm.

To play your messages: your messages will play automatically after logging-in; press the following keys during playback to access these options:

1 - rewind

2, 3 - play faster

2, 1 - play slower

6 - skip to the next message

7, 6 - delete the message

# - pause

7 - message commands list

8 - mailbox commands list

9 - call sender

To send a message while logged into voicemail: Press 7, 5 then enter the receiving mailbox number, followed by # (additional mailbox numbers may be entered each followed by #). Press # again to prompt the system to record, then press 5 to begin recording, followed by # when the recording is complete. Press 7, 9 to send the message.

Express Messaging (direct voicemail box access without logging-in):

Dial 2356, then at the prompt, dial the recipient's 4-digit extension, followed by #. (This will bypass the phone; the phone will not ring, and you will go directly into the user’s mailbox.) Press 5 to record the message followed by #.

Help Command: Press *, 4 at any time to access the help menu and advanced features

Initial Voicemail Setup:

Dial 835-7999, then enter your extension followed by #. The system will ask for a security code; Press #. Press 1 and record Your Name (Personal Verification) after the tone, followed by # to confirm or 1 to try again. Press 5, then 4 and enter the PIN (password) of your choice (0-15 digits) followed by #. Re-enter your PIN followed by # to confirm. Follow the steps below to create your Greeting.

Logging Into Voicemail:

Dial 835-7999, then your extension followed by #, then enter your PIN (password) followed by #.

Voicemail Options:

To Create or Change Your Greeting: After logging-in, press 3, 1 then select a greeting number (1-4). Record your greeting after the tone, then press #.

To check your voicemail: After logging-in, press 2. You then have the following options:

0 - play the message

*3 - delete the message

1 - forward the message to a different voicemail box

# - skip to the next message


Enter the default voicemail PIN: 159357, followed by #.
