Socorro Electrical Engineering Division's Laboratory Experience (SEDLE) for Undergraduates

About the SEDLE Program

The Socorro Electrical Engineering Division’s Laboratory Experience (SEDLE) for undergraduates is designed to introduce undergraduate students to a professional laboratory environment, and provide mentors to guide and train them while making meaningful contributions to ongoing technical design, assembly, and documentation projects at the Observatory.

Interns will be working on designing, documenting, and possibly assisting with fabrication of various mechanical designs for astronomy electronics equipment. This work will be directed by one of NRAO’s experts with interaction with other mentors and engineering students. At the end of the program it is expected that you will submit a brief summary of your work experience.

Selected interns will receive a stipend of $500.00 per week, to be paid biweekly. A travel expense grant is also available (up to $500, actual expenses)

Anticipated start date:   June 18, 2018    end date:  August 10, 2018
